Load-carrying capacity of circular concrete filled steel tubes under axial loading: Reliability analyses

This paper presents the results of reliability analyses load-carrying capacity circular concrete filled steel tubes (CFST) using different codes. Four parameters that govern CFST were considered as variables. These variables include yield strength steel, concrete, diameter CFST, and thickness tube. The Monte Carlo technique was used for simulation. Simulations conducted, obtained capacities analysed. indicated follows a normal distribution. Eurocode 4 provided highest mean because confinement effect taken into consideration, whereas from American Institute Steel Construction (2016) Architectural Japan (AIJ, 2008) codes similar. All resulted in higher standard deviations coefficients variation, while tube lowest deviation variation. Therefore, indices all are those variable highest.
